Mike Robinson has been in the lobster industry all his life. Born in 1956, the son of a lobsterman, he began working with his brother Gene on his father’s boat at the age of 11. He loved the hardworking, free lifestyle that accompanies a lobsterman’s life and decided early on that he would follow in his father’s footsteps. When family members join the business they often design their buoys using the same family colors. Mike chose his father’s colors of white, red and green to carry on the tradition. He currently fishes alone from his 38’ boat named  “Enterprise”.

Mike also is also a very accomplished wooden boat builder. An occupation he dedicates his winters to while awaiting the lobstering season. Mike has built seven wooden lobster boats and is currently working on his 8th, a 48 foot, gorgeous, cedar over oak, Peter Kass design.

In his spare time Mike enjoys following baseball and spending time with his wife, two daughters, and now 2 granddaughters. He has also been known to hop in his truck and drive across the country when the mood strikes him.
